Book Launched!

Thank you to all who joined us yesterday for the launch of Trapped in My Own Body, In My Own Words by Claire Centrella! Special thanks to actor Kirk Cameron (Growing Pains), who wrote the book's foreward and who traveled a great distance to introduce and sign copies of it!

Trapped in My Own Body, In My Own Words is the story of Melissa Centrella, whose remarkable grace, bravery and gratitude through her struggles with Dystonia continue to inspire others, 17 years after her passing. With over 200 copies sold already, we are thrilled that more people will be touched by her spirit! Exciting News!!

Melissa’s Book, “Trapped in my Body” – In my own words is now in for publishing with Christian Faith Publishing.  It is an inspirational book from Melissa, her friends and family who remember her and give honor to her contribution in life.  Although she left us at an early age, she continues to touch so many people through the foundation.  Stay tuned for the release date, hopefully, within the next 6 months.  The preface was written by Kirk & Chelsea Cameron and there are many pictures included with Melissa and the celebrities she knew and loved.

What a great 2018-19 for fundraising!

Nutley High School was to hold a “Powder Puff” football game to raise money for a few special causes on November 18, 2018 but due to the unexpected snow storm it will be held in Late winter/early spring. The girls will dress up in full football equipment to play a game while the boys wear cheerleader outfits! It will be a terrific event again as our foundation was chosen to receive their generous donation for The Melissa’s Hope Foundation. Thanks to Melissa’s alma mater, Nutley HS— we appreciate your support!! A special shout out goes to Melissa Brady and the Student Council—THANK YOU!!
